Expert Velux Window Installation & Replacement in Bristol & Bath

Installing Velux roof windows into your home or workspace can transform an otherwise dark area into a light-flooded, well-ventilated living space. Daylight has a powerful impact on daily well-being, completely transforming a room to feel larger and more open. Combine multiple skylights to bring even more natural daylight into your home. If you are planning a Velux window installation in Bristol & Bath, it is important to partner with experienced roofing contractors like S&J Roofing.

Key Benefits of Installing Velux Roof Windows:

There are plenty of good reasons to install Velux roof windows in your home and here are some reasons:

Natural Light

Roof windows bring natural light to a home where normal vertical windows would simply not be practical. Loft conversions, attics and home extensions are key examples of where this may be the case. Dark corridors and rooms which are cut off from outside walls are also a perfect example of places a roof window can introduce natural light where a standard window cannot.

Improved Ventilation and Moisture Control

Ventilation is so important in a home as it can help reduce levels of airborne pollutants and moisture in the home which can ultimately cause mould and condensation issues. Ventilation also helps control smells and odours, providing better air quality for those inside the property, adding to the overall living comforts of the home.

Thermal Comfort

A comfortable home is important and the temperature has got a lot to do with this. A room should be nice and cool in the summer and warm and cosy in the winter. Roof windows with energy efficient glazing can increase a home’s thermal comfort throughout the whole year by trapping warm air inside in the winter and keeping it out during the summer.

Sound Insulation

Unwanted noise in a home can cause stress and fatigue which of course is not wanted in a home. Installing a Velux roof window will keep out any sound pollution such as busy roads, aircrafts and more.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. S&J re-roofed our 1960’s house during September. The service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone we dealt with at S&J was polite, courteous and helpful. We chose them because they were a long established local family business with a good track record offered a 25yr guarantee and they had done a good job on a neighbour house .
On our house they removed the existing tiles, battons very damaged felt liner. They installed a new breathable lining, new battons and we opted for new tiles.. we are very pleased with the outcome.
Thanks to Lee, Naomi, Tom, James, Kye, Scott, Cam and Jay…. You made it a painless experience

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If it were possible to give a higher than 5* review, I would be more than happy to do so. Prior to instructing a company to do my roof renewals, I obtained five quotes. These quotes were from reputable Bath specialist roofing companies, all with a minimum of 4.6 plus reviews. S&J Roofing were the last company I met with, by this time I had already instructed another company. I was so impressed after meeting with the Director of S&J, Lee Shellard, that I cancelled the other company I’d already instructed (forgoing my deposit.) Before starting the work Lee encouraged me to come into the Walcot Street shop, so I could see all the materials that would be used on my roof and check I was happy before the work commenced.
Throughout the project I could not have been happier with how the work was carried out. The S&J team were, polite, tidy on site, worked extremely hard even in the summer heatwave. They were always happy to answer questions and kept in constant communication regarding the work that had been done and completion timings. They completed the work on time and left the site immaculately tidy. I’m so grateful that I decided to instruct S&J and would not hesitate to recommend them. They are absolute professionals and a brilliant example of a specialist family-run company, who really care about the work they do and how they conduct their business. My sincerest thanks, to all the S&J team.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What an amazing experience dealing with Lee and his team at S&J Roofing in Bath.
Not only were they responsive from the first contact but kept me in the loop on every aspect of the tricky historical roof.
Which they repaired, with like for like materials and even went above and beyond by going to a reclamation yard to get historical coping stones that had been broken by the previous roofers.
My new neighbours have all commented on how professional his team were and have all told me they filed away S&J’s contact details,
As they wouldn’t think of using any other roofing company in Bath.
Their work is simply superb And I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend them to anybody.
Thank you, Lee and the team. ❤️
