In 2021, S&J Roofing’s owner Mr. Shellard, collaborated with Martin from Bath Academy, resulting in a detailed proposal for the required renovation work. When the need for these improvements arose in June 2022, S&J Roofing took on the challenge.
The central focus of this project was the Main Roof Renewal, where we skillfully employed Welsh Natural Slate tiles. This as a deliberate choice due to the slate’s outstanding reputation for quality and longevity, ensures the roof’s endurance beyond a lifetime. In addition to the slate, S&J Roofing also replaced ridge tiles using a dry ridge system and completed the hips with the traditional Code 5 Lead detail, expertly wrapped around a rolled mop stick.
Welsh Natural Slate boasts not only an enduring, aesthetically pleasing finish but also a remarkable ability to withstand various weather conditions and temperature fluctuations, making it the ideal material for Bath Academy’s roofing project
