About Our Founder
Geoff Shellard – A Local Legacy in Roofing
S&J Roofing Bath founded in 1981 by Geoff Andrew Shellard, a skilled tradesman with a strong work ethic, a passion for craftsmanship, and a clear vision: to offer reliable, high-quality roofing services to homeowners and businesses across Bath and the surrounding areas.
Born and raised in the region, Geoff started his roofing career as an apprentice, quickly gaining hands-on experience and a reputation for doing things properly. He believed that roofing should be done to last—not just to look good on completion, but to stand the test of time in both quality and weather resistance.
Geoff launched S&J Roofing from humble beginnings, working from his van and taking on all aspects of roofing—from minor repairs to full roof replacements. His attention to detail, pride in his work, and honest approach soon earned the trust of local residents, builders, and architects alike.

Through word of mouth and repeat customers, the business steadily grew. Geoff’s commitment to quality meant he was always on-site, training up staff to meet the same high standards and investing in the tools and techniques that would set S&J Roofing apart.
Over the decades, Geoff expanded the company’s services to include:

In 2023, S&J Roofing opened a new office and showroom in Walcot Street, Bath, offering clients the chance to meet the team, see materials in person, and discuss their roofing needs face to face—a true reflection of the personal service Geoff always championed.
